Zero Tolerance
The practice operates a 'zero tolerance' policy in regard to verbal or physical abuse towards staff and healthcare professionals.
Patients behaving in an inappropriate or unacceptable manner may be removed from the practice list.
Burbage Surgery is an accredited ‘NHS Veteran Friendly GP Practice’.
A Veteran is anyone who has served for at least one day in the armed forces. This is not only someone who has fought in the world wars but also younger Veterans who have served their country, for example in Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan.
This means that as part of the health commitments of the Armed Forces Covenant, we have a dedicated member of staff, Emily Ind, who has knowledge of military related health conditions and veteran specific health services. Please call the Surgery to find out more.
This is important in helping ex-forces patients to get the best care and treatment.
Please see information concerning healthcare under the Armed Forces Covenant that can be accessed by ex-service personnel.
If you are a Veteran and would like this annotated on your medical record, please let us know.
Emily is our Veteran's Champion at the Surgery. Please ask at Reception if you would like to speak to her.
